Hey guys!
I know it has been a couple of days, but I have been a little busy..which is good!
Today..I am feeling a little down :(
Some days you need support. Moral support. Atta boy support. You can do it support.
Today, I needed a pat on the back.
A little encouragement. There was none to be had.
I am trying to be more positive. Truly trying to change myself from the inside out...but day like today I fall back into my "negative nancy" mode.
I am a new decorator. Sometimes things are trial and error. I can bake my ass off, but the decorating thing is new. I am often filled with self doubt about what I create. I know that we are harder on ourselves than others..and I know "haters gonna hate", but sometimes self doubt is quite gripping.
I will post pics of what I have been working on.
admittedly not my best work. I did the character free hand and it was the first time I have used fondant to make a character. Be kind!

Well, I decided to try a different kind of fondant.
I made buttercream fondant instead of marshmallow.
Marshmallow is still my favorite.
I did 2 mock birthday cakes today.
Hope to get some good feedback.

Made cakes and pies,  got my chicken coop ready and made some mock wedding cakes.!
Business is moving..slowly..but moving
I am so happy!

I used the marshmallow fondant..it was fairly easy to work with!

Good morning all!
I am sorry I have been MIA the last couple of days..
I had a very emotional Monday.
My 4 month old puppy got really sick, really fast and we had to put her down yesterday. Heart wrenching!
To make this horrible situation worse, my boy had just come home from his mother's. So..He had to be here for this horrible decision.
We are all recuperating.
I still have not tried making the fondant yet..maybe I will bake today to ease my mind.
Hopefully, I will post some happier things later this week.

It has been quite a busy weekend!
Got my birthday chocolate pies delivered, started cleaning out the building and getting the stuff in it ready to sell and MY MOM WAS HERE! :)
It is always good to see my mom! It makes me happy!
I have decided I am going to venture into the world of fondant...I know, I know....but I have to try!
I am getting ready to put together a cake book and hopefully get my Facebook page up and running. So much in the works right now!
I am very excited!

Well...spent the day with a killer headache while job hunting.
I know, interesting combination.
The event I had planned for Saturday
 is being postponed until August 1st. That kind of sucks, but I am still optimistic! One step at a time right?!
Tomorrow I am going to to help clean out a shop that I hope will eventually be my bakery.
I will be making pies tomorrow for a client! Yeah!

No baking today.
Today I built a fence. Yep, me. All by myself!
I am so proud of me today!
The next two days are going to be crazy!
I have pie orders and I am doing a meet and greet Saturday morning. I am very excited.
I will be baking goodies to sell and try to get The Twisted Baker name out there!

So yesterday was our anniversary-9 years!
We were discussing how we thought it seemed so much longer!
It seems our marriage has had a lot more down's than ups...not because of lack of love, but lack of money, time, resources..just life in general.
Yesterday, I made the decision NO MORE!
I have been blessed with a great man who loves me unconditionally.  Even when life happens and things get difficult he is a rock! Every year for the last 9 we have said "maybe next year"...I am done saying that.
TODAY...I will make things happen. We have been blessed with so much that I take for granted daily!
Yes it is a Cumbaya moment! Today, I make a difference, today I make it better!
Side note: our anniversary dinner was homemade chicken pot pie and homemade chocolate cake!

Last night I was feeling particularly lazy so I decided to make one of those biscuit coffee cakes. You know, not from scratch. Easy, right? I mean, seriously,  I bake things from SCRATCH everyday!
I am posting a pic of what my laziness got me!
Not sure if the hubby will even eat it.

Just seeing how everyone is doing  today.
Made the hubby's some fish tacos and getting ready to start some more baking.
Not sure what I will feature this week, but I found a great recipe for doughnut muffins!

Well..here is the finished Hello Kitty cake. ..it isn't perfect but the dad was happy.
Sometimes going out of your comfort zone is a good thing!
Now I am off to make a jeff Davis pie for my hubby and another chocolate.

Today in Texas it is raining and cool.
Yes, it is July.
Yes, it should be 100°.
Today I am thankful for the much needed rain.
I am off to pick up some glass pie pans from a customer so that I can "fill them with goodies" for him. It is kind of a great trade off as I do not have to invest in pans for him and I have a great customer!

So tonight I have an order for chocolate pie...sounds simple enough, right?
Well let me tell you a little something about pie crust you may not know- pie crust is mean, she is a temperamental bitch!
Sometimes pie crust is like a lover..soft and silky..feels good in your hands...and sometimes..pie crust is like a little pms bitch...hard and doughy and does not want to be touched!
I will post again and let you know which version of crust I get tonight.
